What's new
Hoop Manager evolves every week. Here is, in order, what changed in the game, as managers can see and use it.
Update of October 14: elections, predictions and a dashboard your way
- National coach elections: a badge on the National teams tab and pop-ups to run or vote, in your own country or another one. Staff members can no longer stand, and a coach who resigns is replaced automatically (the runner-up of the election, otherwise the assistant).
- National teams: called-up players are kept from one match to the next. Internationals appear in blue in the roster, with their country's flag and their number of caps. U21 World Cup from the first season, and final-stage matches displayed.
- New Predictions tab, under Planet Hoop: a single worldwide ranking of every manager, updated after each round, with a podium, the gap to the leader and your position. Only the world No. 1 at the end of the season wins 1 month of Premium.
- Customisable dashboard (Personalization, Dashboard): show or hide each panel, choose its width and its order, by touch or with the mouse.
- Matches: more direct finishes after an offensive rebound and more fast breaks. In the live view, every player wears the right kit, home or away.
- Medical centre: a signing who arrives injured counts in the season's injuries. Locker room: mood history over twelve weeks. Arena: attendance gauge readable on phones.
- New website home page, public pages for the game world (standings and results of every country) and stronger protection of each manager's private link.
Week of October 12: the game redesigned for phones
- New phone interface: a five-tab bar (Home, Roster, Match, Calendar, Club), a more compact home screen showing the essentials of the next match and of the finances, and menus that always open from the bottom of the screen.
- Live matches and replays go full screen in landscape: the court fills the whole screen and the replay time bar stays discreet at the bottom.
- The Orders page is split into real sub-tabs (Lineup, Offense, Defense…), for both the club and national teams.
- Finances: the budget chart covers the last twelve weeks with exact balances week by week, and phones show a clear summary of income, expenses and result.
- International competitions are open to every national team, which can now be customized (saved tactics, away jersey, short name, mascot).
- Individual training and a Minutes column in the roster, to better share out the week's playing time.
Week of October 5: national teams and a 2D live view
- National teams: managers elect their head coaches for two-season terms, who then shortlist, call up and lead their national team in a dedicated National mode, all the way to continental competitions and the World Cup.
- Live matches switch to 2D for everyone: top-down court, three referees, players walking out of the tunnel, animated timeouts (cheerleaders, trampoline mascot, t-shirt cannons) and crowd sound.
- Substitutions now only happen in the windows allowed by the rules, and every free throw is now an event of its own.
- Locker room: team dynamics (morale, leaders, cohesion) react to playing time and roster changes, and managers can hold one-on-one talks with their players.
- Twenty achievements in three tiers (bronze, silver, gold) and five platinum achievements reward a manager's career; every club keeps its own history and rivalries.
- Every player now has a playing role (playmaker, rebounder, inside scorer…) and a mastery of that role.
- A match or a replay can be shared through a public link; the game is now available in 27 languages with regional leagues.
Week of September 28: a world of leagues
- Planet Hoop: every country and league of the game in one place, with their honours, standings and the best players of the season.
- Live national Cup with its bracket for each country, and an off-season Super Cup between the Division I champion and the Cup winner, with trophies and honours.
- Worldwide transfer market: real-time auctions cover players from every league; a new signing first negotiates his contract, then takes a medical.
- Private leagues with friends: orders for each match, live view, standings, leaders and man of the matchday, open to clubs from all over the world with an invitation code.
- Matches can be watched again as replays, with a slider to move forward or back in the game.
- Redesigned player page (rankings, history, injuries, contract), detailed financial report by item, and the whole game translated into Italian.
